About Viv

"If you and your agency are interested in training or implementing the Signs of Safety in the United Kingdom then you need to think Viv Hogg. Viv quite simply has the most experience in the direct practice and management of the Signs of Safety in the English context and also in training and consulting on the approach. Viv began using the Signs of Safety in 2001 in the Gateshead Referral and Access teams she lead till mid 2011. During that time Viv and her practitioners made the Signs of Safety their own and more than that contributed significantly to the ongoing evolution of the approach which is why I often use examples form their practice in my training. Viv is a fantastic teacher and trainer, I have seen this when working with her not only in the UK but also in Europe, Japan, the US and Australia. Child protection people whether practitioners or leaders always take to Viv because she is down to earth and everything she offers is grounded in what actually makes a difference for practitioners and families. Every September I run a five-day Signs of Safety intensive with Viv in Gateshead, one of the reasons I do this is every year when I listen to Viv I learn more about what the Signs of Safety is. In working with Viv, you will too."
