Biography

Viv Hogg is a social worker of 15 years experience, all of Viv's career has been involved in child protection, first in Derbyshire and then Nottingham before moving north to Gateshead. Viv is manager of the Gateshead Referral and Assessment team who have been using the Signs of Safety approach in all their investigative work since 2001.

Viv's team are the most experienced UK professionals in using the Signs of Safety approach. Viv has provided training and consultation in the signs of safety to many UK boroughs and currently acts as a consultant to the system-wide signs of safety implementation in the Zeeland region of The Netherlands.

Viv and her team's extensive signs of safety experience has been recognised internationally - they have presented their work as keynote presenters in major child protection conferences in Japan and the Netherlands. Viv is the co-author of three papers on the signs of safety and solution-focused child protection practice.
